Wyoming Video Task Force 

The Governor of the State of Wyoming, has appointed a Task Force to examine and make recommendations on Distance Education, Video Conferencing, and IP-based Communications. A Request for Proposal was released January 22, 2009 in search of a vendor to perform a needs analysis which would evaluate and examine the State of Wyoming's video teleconferencing and IP communications needs and make recommendations regarding network architecture, costs, video teleconferencing governance and funding. On March 25, 2009, PlanNet Consulting, LLC. (www.plannet.net) was awarded the contract to perform the assessment. The kick-off meeting for the project was held on April 27, 2009. The anticipated completion date of the assessment is August 31, 2009. This assessment will provide the State with the necessary tools to enhance the business and economic development climate in Wyoming through a more efficient and robust technological base for improved communications and increased accessibility. It is intended that the time and cost savings coupled with the increased access to State Government will better serve the needs of Wyoming's citizens.

On May 7, 2009, Wainhouse Research (www.wainhouse.com) was awarded the contract to perform the assessment for the distance education component. The kick-off meeting for the project was held on April 30, 2009, with an anticipated completion date of September 1, 2009. This assessment will provide the education communities within the State the tools needed to enhance the current distance learning opportunities available.
