Aaron Roberts, Chief Information Security Officer

Aaron Roberts is an experienced, results driven, cybersecurity professional with a very diverse technology background in both the public and private sectors. He leads the information security program for the State of Wyoming and provides strategic leadership ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of state resources utilizing a defense-in-depth philosophy. Before joining the Department of Enterprise Technology Services, Aaron worked as the IT Branch Chief for the Wyoming Department of Game & Fish, Director of the Information Management Division for the Wyoming Department of Education, and served in the United States Air Force. 


Aaron earned his Master’s degree from Webster University and his Bachelor’s from Friends University.  Additionally, he is an Alumni of the Wyoming Leadership and Development program, and has earned several professional certifications through his extensive career; CISSP, C|CISO, and GCCC, to name a few. 


Aaron currently represents Governor Mark Gordon on the Council of Governor’s, Cybersecurity subcommittee as a subject matter expert. He also is Wyoming's MS-ISAC representative in addition to being an active member of the National Association of Chief Information Officers, National Association of State Technology Directors, and National Governors Association.


In Aaron’s “spare time” he enjoys researching digital forensics and open source technologies.
