State of Wyoming GIS Office
Welcome to GIS in Wyoming!
The Department of Enterprise Technology Services Geographic Information Office enhances, advocates, and coordinates for all GIS colleagues at all levels of government in Wyoming.
Enhancement – The Geographic Information Office is responsible for the system administration of the enterprise GIS systems. It is setting up a cloud-based Esri Enterprise Portal that state agencies can use along with a statewide portal for data sharing.
Advocacy – The Geographic Information Office consults state agencies on GIS best practices and related products and provides recommendations to ETS management to further Wyoming’s GIS infrastructure and strategies. The GIO also reviews GIS policies and is the steward of GIS systems and contract consolidation.
Coordination – The Geographic Information Office facilitates MOUs, DSAs, RFPs, RFQs, and other documents for geospatial purposes. The GIO researches and networks with technical and non-technical colleagues to implement GIS best practices. The GIO will provide system administrator functions within the enterprise GIS system, manage licensing, and assist state agencies with licensing, use, and migration into the enterprise GIS environments and future GIS data standards and governance.
